My wake up call.......

It was a great morning traveling back home to visit family with my wife, when I was received that dreadful moment that I call my wake-up call. It arrived at that exact second when I sat down on the plane and realized the next words to come out of my mouth were ones I was not familiar with. I paused, looked around, took a deep breath and uttered......"excuse me, do you have a seatbelt extender?" With that I found myself sinking back into my seat, not because I suddenly found more room rather I was embarrassed and shocked that I had reach this point in my life. For those of you who really know me, you know that I am a confident and outgoing person. It was in this moment, sitting on this regional jet, that I realized that I was not as confident rather embarrassed and unaware of what to do next.

After returning home and taking a long hard look at myself, my lifestyle and my life ambitions I knew a drastic change needed to take place. With this realization I have chosen to begin a supervised regiment of exercise using a trainer at a gym.

I know that blogging about workouts is old news and people may not care to hear another story of an overweight guy feeling embarrassed or ashamed how he looks, but I am compelled to share my insights and experiences to hopefully show, inspire and encourage anyone who else how has or may have experience that awkward moment.........of a wake-up call.
